Melissa Swaffer is in her first season in a career position with the Big West after serving internships with the conference in the areas of marketing and championships, special events and compliance. Swaffer provides support for the governance, membership and compliance functions of the Big West. In addition, Swaffer continues her work coordinating volunteers for Big West championships and special events.

Swaffer is a 2008 graduate of San Diego State University with a bachelor's in Communication. At SDSU she was a goalie for the Aztecs' women's soccer team. Swaffer earned a Master's in Sports Management from the University of San Francisco in 2011.

Swaffer and her husband Jason reside in Ladera Ranch.
