Big West 3-0 After First Day Of NCAA Regionals

All three teams representing the Big West Conference - Cal State Fullerton, Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara - in the 2013 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship won their respective games for a perfect 3-0 record.  The last time the Big West registered three wins to open NCAA Regional play was in 2008 and the last time the league was 3-0  on opening day was in 2003.

Pettibone, Gauchos Open Corvallis Regional with 6-4 Win Over Texas A&M

When the 2013 NCAA Baseball Tournament brackets were unveiled on Monday, UC Santa Barbara had to wait until the last match-up was announced to hear its name, but when its game against Texas A&M did appear on the TV screen the Gauchos went into wild celebration in their clubhouse.

No. 21 Cal Poly Earns First Division I Regional Victory, Defeats San Diego 9-2

Senior right-hander Joey Wagman earned his record-breaking 13th victory of the season and freshman designated hitter Brian Mundell drove in four runs, one with his 11th home run of the season, as No. 21 Cal Poly defeated San Diego 9-2 in the opening game of the NCAA Division I Los Angeles Regional on Friday at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
