The Cal Poly men's doubles team of Andre Dome and Matt Fawcett will live to see another day at the NCAA Men's Tennis Championship when they picked up a straight-set win over the No. 13-ranked team of Jonas Lutjen and Nik Scholtz of Mississippi.
The No. 68-ranked Mustang duo won the first set in a 7-6 tiebreaker. The team dominated in the second set, 6-3, to secure the win.
The team will advance to the round of 16 on Friday against the No. 7-ranked team of Panav Jha and Eric Quigley from Kentucky. The Kentucky team defeated a team from Bucknell, 6-2, 6-0, to advance to the next round.
Dome will be familiar with Quigley's game as the Kentucky player defeated Dome in the first round of singles play on Wednesday.
