The first round of the NCAA Division I Regional Tournament started with the Big West competing in three different regions and competing against the highest ranked teams in the country.  Individually the Big West players made good marks looking to improve going into the second day of match play Friday, May 18.

Baxter's 70 Leads Aggies at NCAA Regional

Jonny Baxter's 70 placed him in a tie for 27th place as the sophomore led the UC Davis men's golf team on the first day of action at the NCAA Div. I Stanford Regional on Thursday at the Stanford Golf Course.

Philip Chian shot an even-par 71 to tie for 26th place after the opening round of the NCAA Athens Regional at the University of Georgia Golf Course, leading the Long Beach State men's golf team to finish the day in 12th.

First Day Of NCAA Play In The Book For Edfort

Playing in his first NCAA tournament as an individual, junior Alex Edfort experienced an up-and-down day during the opening round of regional play on Thursday, May 17. Edfort closed out his first round of action with a +2, 72 to finish six strokes off the lead pace set by BYU's Zachary Blair and LSU's Sang Yi.
