No. 46 Long Beach State lost 4-0 on the road at No. 1 UCLA on Saturday, finishing a 19-win campaign for the 49ers after the program's second NCAA Tournament win.
Long Beach State faced a difficult foe in the top team in the nation. In doubles, Anais Dallara and Klaudia Malenovska led No. 9 Courtney Dolehide and Pamela Montez at No. 2 doubles, but an 8-4 loss at No. 3 doubles and an 8-6 defeat at No. 1 doubles over No. 84 Laura Bernard and Rachel Mansse from No. 6 Robin Anderson and Skylar Morton gave the Bruins the doubles point.
In singles, the 49ers were matched up with five ranked singles players on the Bruins. Dallara lost 6-1, 6-2 to No. 4 Anderson, while No. 73 Montez defeated Laura Bernard 6-3, 6-2 and No. 124 Morton won against Sarah Cantlay 6-2, 6-4 to seal the match.
However, Manasse was leading No. 98 Jones 6-4, 3-1 at the conclusion of the match, and Klaudia Malenovska led No. 119 Chanelle Van Nguyen 4-3 in the second set after losing the first.
Manasse finishes her career with a 29-win senior season, which would rank first all-time in school history prior to this season and is second-most behind Dallara. Her 174 combined wins place her third all-time in school history behind Dallara and Deborah Armstrong. Also finishing her career Saturday was Luzar, whose 124 wins rank ninth in school history.
Senior Anais Dallara continues her season in two weeks at the NCAA Championship in Athens, Ga., having become the third 49er ever to receive an invitation to the singles championship, one of 64 players selected to compete for the individual title in 2012. Ranked No. 102 in the nation, Dallara will try to improve on her school-record 30 singles wins in 2012 in that tournament.

No. 22 Texas Tech Defeats No. 63 Mustangs in First Round of NCAA's, 4-1
The 63rd-ranked Cal Poly men's tennis team did everything they could to upset 22nd-ranked Texas Tech in the first round of the NCAA Men's Tennis Championship, but it would be too much with Texas Tech prevailing, 4-1, Saturday at the Hellman Tennis Complex in Berkeley. The Mustangs conclude the season 15-8 while Texas Tech improves to 16-8 and will face the winner of the Cal – UTSA match on Sunday.
Play opened with doubles and high hopes for the Mustangs as the No. 3 doubles team, Jurgen De Jager and Marco Comuzzo defeated Jeff Bryan and Rpahael Pfister, 8-6.
Jordan Bridge and Brian McPhee secured the point for the Mustangs with an 8-4 win over Rafael Garcia and Vitor Manzini on the second court.
The 68th-ranked duo of Andre Dome and Matt Fawcett versus 18th-ranked Raony Carvalho and Gonzalo Escobar went unfinished with the doubles point decided.
Singles play opened with the Mustangs holding a 1-0 advantage, but Texas Tech's Pfister evened the match when he defeated Sebastian Bell on the sixth court in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.
Garcia gave Texas Tech a 2-1 lead when he defeated Fawcett, 6-4, 6-4, on the third court while 79th-ranked Carvalho defeated McPhee, 6-2, 6-3, on the second court.
The deciding point came on the fourth court with Cal Poly's Bridge giving Manzini all he could handle. Manzini won the first set, 6-4, with Bridge battling back winning the second set, 6-3. Manzini prevailed in the third with a 6-4 win giving Texas Tech the win over the Mustangs.
The two remaining matches went unfinished with the match decided. Dome and Escobar each had won a set with the third set tied 3-3 when the match was called.
On the fifth court, De Jager was leading in the third set over Francisco Zambon when the match was called.
