The Cal State Northridge softball team (7-24, 2-1 Big West) defeated Pacific 5-4 Monday afternoon in the finale of both team's Big West Conference opening series. Madeline Sale had three hits, including a lead-off home run in the first, and Mia Pagano earned another complete game win for the Matadors.

The UC Davis softball team used a six-run first inning to run away with a 9-1 five-inning win over UC Riverside as the Aggies won the first Big West series of the season on Monday at La Rue Field.
