Sunday Split Earns Titans Series Win

The Cal State Fullerton softball team earned its first Big West Conference series win of the 2012 season with a doubleheader split on Sunday afternoon, falling to host Cal Poly in the opener, 4-1, before rebounding with a 7-0 shutout victory in the rubber game at Bob Janssen Field in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

Pacific Opens Its Title Defense With A Split Against Cal State Northridge

Opening their home Big West schedule and beginning the defense of their conference title, the Pacific women's softball team split a doubleheader with Cal State Northridge (CSUN) on Sunday, April 1.  The Matadors took game one 4-3 to begin the day before the Tigers rebounded with a 9-1 (6 inn.) win in game two.  With the split, Pacific moved to 21-12 on the year and 1-1 in the Big West while the Matadors moved to 6-24 overall and 1-1 in conference play.  In addition to opening conference play, the Tigers sported pink uniforms for the first time in program history as Pacific played in support of breast health awareness.

Aggies Split In Big West Openers Against Highlanders

Justine Vela threw a three-hitter, complete with 14 strikeouts in a 3-1 complete game win before the UC Davis softball team dropped an 8-0 contest in six innings against UC Riverside on Sunday at La Rue Field.
