The fifth annual Big West Coin Drive tallies are in as the Pacific Tigers proved excellence for a second year in a row bringing in an impressive $3,485.24 to be given to the charity of their choice, the St. Joseph’s Medical Foundation for Breast Cancer Services.
It was a joint effort as the Big West Conference Student Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC) beat last years total bringing in $10,787.14 to be distributed to the nine institutionally selected charities.
The Tigers sum will be accompanied with 25 percent from each of the other eight institutions total collected for a grand total of over $5,500 donated.
Seven of the nine Big West SAAC’s brought in over $1,000 to be donated to the charity of their choice, some of the recipient organizations include: Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center (UC Davis), Read Across America, California Teachers Association (Long Beach State), Highland Elementary (UC Riverside), Children’s Hospital of Orange County, Heart Institute (UC Irvine), Valley Trauma Center (Cal State Northridge) and the Children’s Foundation of Orange Wood.
