Cal Poly's Andre Dome and Alexander Sonesson begin play today in the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Doubles Championship against the No. 9-ranked tandem from Texas.

The Mustang duo squares off against Jean Andersen and Ed Corrie at 2:00 p.m. inside Stanford University's Taube Family Tennis Center.  Dome and Sonessson are ranked No. 50 nationally in the Campbell's Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, and own a 12-5 record playing together at the No. 1 doubles position this season.  The All-Big West First Team pair would encounter either Duke's Reid Carleton and Henrique Cunha or Christoph Thiemann and Marcel Thiemann of Mississippi in Friday's round of 16 should they get past their first round opponents.

In Wednesday's action, UC Irvine junior Chris Kearney lost in the first round of the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Singles Championship to Mississippi's Marcel Thiemann by a 7-6, 6-1 score.  Kearney finished with a 27-11 record overall in singles, including a 16-8 mark in the spring season.  He was the first Anteater to compete in the singles championship since Victor Lamm in 2008.
