Pacific senior Jenifer Widjaja captured Big West Women's Tennis Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive season to highlight the naming of the 2011 all-conference team today.  UC Davis took home the other top awards as Bill Maze garnered Coach of the Year honors and Megan Heneghan was selected Freshman of the Year.

Widjaja, a native of Sao Roque, Brazil, posted a 16-5 record in spring dual matches at No. 1 singles for the Tigers.  She went an undefeated 8-0 against Big West opponents in the regular season, losing just one set in the process.  Widjaja defeated five other members of the all-conference first team and gave up more than three games in any set on only one occasion.  In addition, Widjaja paired with Julia Hansen to tally a 16-4 record at No. 1 doubles this season.  Widjaja is the sixth individual in conference history to earn back-to-back Player of the Year honors.

Maze spearheaded a breakout season for the UC Davis program, which climbed from nine wins in 2010 to a Division I school record 17 this season.  The Aggies finished Big West play in third place with a 6-2 record and entered the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings for the first time in school history, reaching a mark as high as No. 56.  In addition, the Aggies reeled off 10 straight wins at one point during the season and knocked off a pair of ranked foes in No. 69 UC Irvine and No. 58 UC Santa Barbara.  This is the second time Maze has received the top coaching honor after he earned Co-Coach of the Year plaudits in 2005 while at the helm of Pacific.

Heneghan infused the UC Davis program with renewed hope for the future in becoming the first Aggie to earn Freshman of the Year accolades.  One of three freshman regulars in the starting lineup, Heneghan notched an impressive 15-8 spring dual record primarily at the No. 1 position.  As the only freshman on the all-conference first team, Heneghan posted a 5-3 regular season mark against Big West foes and earned victories against first team brethren Courtney Byron of UC Irvine and Cal State Northridge's Brooke Doane.
