A total of 215 student-athletes from nine member institutions were selected to the Academic All-Big West Conference Team for the spring sports of baseball, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field, men's and women's golf, and women's water polo.  To be eligible for the All-Academic team, student-athletes have to maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, complete one full year at the member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received (at least a sophomore academically) and competed in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.

Cal State Northridge led all Big West schools with 33 all-academic selections, including a league-high five student-athletes in softball.  UC Irvine finished a close second with 32 all-academic representatives, leading the pack in women's track and field (14), baseball (6) and women's tennis (5).  UC Santa Barbara had 31 honorees to rank third among Big West schools.  Thirteen Gaucho student-athletes were recognized from women's track and field, which produced the most honorees (70) of any Big West sport.

Long Beach State had the fourth-most honorees with 24.  Cal Poly was next with 22 all-academic representatives, while UC Davis and UC Riverside were tied with 20.  Rounding out the Big West contingent was Cal State Fullerton (17) and Pacific (16).

In addition to the 70 women's track and field honorees, men's track and field had 31.  Women's water polo produced 26 all-academic honorees, followed by women's tennis (23), baseball (22), softball (15) and men's tennis (14).  Men's golf had eight selections and women's golf six.
