Pacific Alum Jason Preeo and LBSU Alum John Mallinger Makes US Open Cut

Pacific alumnus Jason Preeo and Long Beach State alumnus John Mallinger made the cut at this year's U.S. Open and will be playing in the fourth and final round on Sunday.   Mallinger shot a one-under-par 70 and is in a tie for 16th place.

Preeo had a tough day on Saturday, shooting 11-over par and is +14 for the tournament. 

Preeo, a 2000 graduate of the University of the Pacific and the Tigers former head coach, started the day tied for 16th place at +3.  Mallinger started the day at +7.

Mallinger, a 2002 graduate of Long Beach State, is right at the cut line, tied for 59th place.

Two other former Big West golfers qualified for this year's Open played at Pebble Beach.  Long Beach State alum Paul Goydos and UC Irvine alum Kenny Kim failed to make the cut.
