UC Irvine's John Chin, who recently completed his senior season, was named to the 2010 All-Nicklaus Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America Thursday. He gained another postseason honor Friday as he was added to the 2010 Golfweek All-American first team list.
Chin, three-time Big West Conference Golfer of the Year, was named to the PING All-America first team earlier this month.
He led UCI this season with a 70.05 average and 11 top-10 finishes (eight top-5s). He finished first in four tournaments, including winning his second Big West individual title. UCI won its sixth Big West championship by 17 shots May 3-4 at Mission Viejo Country Club. The Anteaters advanced to NCAA regional play for the ninth time in the past 10 years. UCI placed eighth in the NCAA Southwest Regional at Carlton Oaks Golf Club in Santee, Calif., and Chin finished ninth.
Chin ended the season ranked No. 1 in the Golfstat Cup and second in the Golfweek/Sagarin ratings.
Chin will compete for the United States in the Palmer Cup at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Portrush, Northern Ireland, next Thursday through Saturday (June 24-26).
