Kari Pestolesi connected for a match-high 23 kills to guide No. 21 UC Irvine to a 3-2 win over No. 25 Long Beach State. The Anteaters now have sole possession of first place in the Big West.

Kari Pestolesi tied a season-high with 23 kills to lead all players as No. 21 UC Irvine defeated No. 25 Long Beach State, 27-29, 25-23, 25-17, 18-25, 15-13 in a Big West match Friday at Crawford Court. The win gave the Anteaters sole possession of first place in the conference standings at 5-1 (15-3 overall) while the 49ers fell to 11-5 overall and 4-2 in league action.
