UCI's Garcia Claims National Honors After Stellar Week

UC Irvine's Irving Garcia garnered multiple national honors after a seven-point week in two road wins.

UC Irvine senior forward Irving Garcia received a slew of national honors for his efforts in the Anteaters' two road wins last week.

The San Luiz, Ariz., native was named the Top Drawer Soccer national player of the week and named to the national teams of the week by Soccer America and College Soccer News.

Garcia accounted for seven points last week via three goals and one assist. He scored both of UCI's tallies in an overtime win over nationally-ranked New Mexico, then followed that up with a goal and an assist in the victory over conference rival Cal State Northridge.

Garcia is now tied for tops in the Big West in goals (5), tied for second in assists (5) and ranks second in the league in points (15).
