Kristina Hammarstrom and the rest of the Pacific Tigers head to the Bay Area for the San Francisco State Invitational this weekend.

10/7/2009

The three-week mark until the Big West Cross Country Championships hits this weekend, but it will be a light slate of action as three teams are competing in two meets.

Pacific returns to the trails after a week off as the Tigers head to the Bay Area for the San Francisco State Invitational held at Golden Gate Park’s Speedway Meadows. Pacific finished ninth in last year’s SF State Invitational, highlighted by a pair of runners finishing in the top 40, one of which finished in the top 20.

The other two squads in action, Long Beach State and UC Irvine, will both compete at the Triton Classic in San Diego Saturday morning. UCI, which is coming off first place showings in the men’s and women’s race at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational, will send only a women's contingent to the event.
