The upcoming Big West cross country schedule is a big one as the seven schools in action this weekend are all heading to a couple of the most competitive meets in the country.
Cal Poly, Cal State Northridge, Long Beach State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara and Pacific will all head to the Bay Area this weekend to participate in the 36th annual Stanford Invitational. The meet, which is held at the Stanford Golf Course, attracts some of the top individuals and teams from all over the nation.
A year ago, four teams on the men’s side finished in the top 10 among a strong field of 28, while three women’s teams finished in the top 10 out of 33 squads and three women’s individuals crossed the finish line among the top 10.
UCSB will also pull double duty this weekend as a contingent of Gauchos head to Falcon Heights, Minn., for the 24th Annual Roy Griak Invitational.
