CP's Tyerman; UCD's Peterson Claim Big West Weekly Honors

Jonathan Peterson helped UC Davis to a first place finish at the Hornet Jamboree.

After posting strong results for their respective teams last weekend, Cal Poly's Kayleigh Tyerman and UC Davis' Jonathan Peterson came away with Big West Women's and Men's Athlete of the Week honors, respectively.

Tyerman, a freshman from Medford Ore., won her second consecutive league weekly accolade after leading the Mustangs to a team title at the Asics/UCI Invitational. Tyerman led the club with a second place showing after finishing the 5K course in 17:26.6.

Peterson, a sophomore from Clovis, Calif., led the Aggies to a team title at the Hornet Jamboree. He completed the four-mile race in 19:34, winning top honors in a field of 90 competitors.
