UC Irvine's John Chin Named To PING All-Region Team

UC Irvine junior John Chin has been named to the Division I PING All-West Region team for the second straight year by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Chin was also selected as Big West Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive season after leading UCI with a 71.39 average and six top-10 finishes.
He placed second at the Anteater Invitational and Del Walker Intercollegiate, seventh at the U.S. Intercollegiate and Callaway Match Play Qualifier, eighth at the Fresno State Lexus Classic and ninth at the Topy Cup in Tanagura, Japan to open the season. His low score of the season was a six-under 65 in the second round of the Del Walker Intercollegiate Oct. 16 at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach.
Chin led UCI with an 18th-place finish at the NCAA West Regional May 14-16 at Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City.
