Titans Keep Pace, Take Two From UCSB

Cal State Fullerton sits one game back from league-leading Cal Poly with one game remaining in conference play.

The Cal State Fullerton softball team kept pace with the league leaders on Saturday afternoon, taking a doubleheader from UC Santa Barbara by the scores of 4-2 and 2-1 in nine innings in a pair of contests played at Cal Poly's Bob Janssen Field.

No. 21 Cal Poly Sweeps Doubleheader at UC Riverside

Sophomore lefthander Anna Cahn’s first-inning three-run homer during the opening game of a Friday doubleheader against UC Riverside propelled the No. 21 Cal Poly softball team to an 8-2 victory while junior lefthander Helen Peña scattered five hits in a 4-0 complete-game nightcap win as the Mustangs moved two steps closer to clinching their second Big West Conference title in three seasons and an automatic NCAA Tournament berth with a doubleheader sweep of the Highlanders at Amy S. Harrison Field.

Head coach Kim Sowder reaches century mark with doubleheader sweep at Pacific

The Long Beach State softball team (33-19, 14-6 BWC) swept Pacific in a Big West Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, winning 6-1 and 2-1 (eight innings), at Bill Simoni Field. With the victories, third-year head coach Kim Sowder surpassed the century mark, improving her career record to 101-61 (.623).

UC Davis Splits Doubleheader With CSUN

UC Davis split a Big West Conference softball doubleheader with Cal State Northridge on Friday at La Rue Field. The Aggies defeated the Matadors, 3-2, in 10 innings in the first game before CSUN countered with a 3-1 victory in the second. Alex Holmes went a combined 4-for-6 with two RBIs as well as a win in the circle for UC Davis (22-31, 6-14 Big West). Marissa Araujo also drove in two runs.
