UC Davis swimmer Scott Weltz made his first day at the 2009 NCAA Men's Swimming Championships a memorable one as he claimed honorable mention All-America honors in the 200 individual medley. The national meet is being held at the Student Recreation Center Natatorium on the campus of Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
Weltz set a school record during the preliminary swims in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing 15th overall in 1:43.97 to surpass his previous school record of 1:44.34.
