Three senior Big West men's soccer players continued to roll in the accolades following an outstanding 2008 season as UC Davis' Quincy Amarikwa and Dylan Curtis and UC Santa Barbara's Chris Pontius claimed spots on the NSCAA/adidas All-America teams.

Amarikwa was given the highest honor of the three as he was named to the second team, while the NSCAA placed Curtis and Pontius on the third team.

Amarikwa, a native of Bakersfield, Calif., had one of the finest seasons in the country as the striker led UC Davis to the second round of the postseason. He collected a league-high 15 goals and added an assist to amass 31 points. Amarikwa was named the Big West Offensive Player of the Year, first team All-Big West and placed on the first team All-Far West region squad.

Curtis, who hails from Pleasanton, Calif., gave the Aggies their first two DI All-Americans in program history. Curtis wrapped up an outstanding season from his midfield position with five goals and a conference-high 11 assists for 21 points. He was named the Big West Midfielder of the Year and collected first team All-Big West and first team All-Far West region accolades. Curtis is also a finalist for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, an honor which celebrates the loyalty of seniors who honor a four-year commitment to their university.

Pontius, a product of Yorba Linda, Calif., continued the long line of top-flight Gaucho strikers with an outstanding 2008 campaign. The versatile star scored a career-best 14 goals and added four assists for a league-best 32 points. Along the way, Pontius broke the conference single-season shot record (114), was named first team All-Big West for the second straight season and named first team All-Far West region.

The three All-Americans selections by the NSCAA mark the most for the conference since the 2006 season when a trio of players was also chosen. The current threesome, who earned Division I All-America honors for the first time in their careers,  also have bright professional futures as they are among 65 seniors who are on the initial list for the 2009 MLS Combine set to be held January 9-13, 2009.
