Cal Poly tandem of Brittany Blalock (Palm Desert, Calif.) and Steffi Wong (Markham, Ontario, Canada) lost a close 6-4, 6-4 match to Vanja Corovic and Marija Milic of Texas in the first round of the 2008 NCAA Women's Tennis Doubles Championship at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. on Thursday.

The No. 46-ranked team in the nation, Blalock and Wong were unable to capitalize on break opportunities against the No. 23-ranked Longhorn duo.  At 3-3 in the second set, Blalock and Wong lost the next two games to fall behind 5-3 as they had their serve broken.  Cal Poly moved to within 5-4, but saw the match end as Texas served out the match.

Blalock and Wong finished the season at 14-8 as the top Mustang doubles team.
