Cal Poly Stampedes into NCAA Tournament Regional Round for First Time in 22 Years

The 16th-seeded Cal Poly volleyball team bombarded Purdue with a .325 hitting percentage as the Mustangs advanced to the Stanford Regional of the 2007 NCAA Tournament – the program’s first venture in to the third round of postseason play since 1985 – with a dominating 30-12, 30-14, 30-27 victory against the Boilermakers Saturday evening at the Convocation Center in a sub-regional hosted by Ohio University.

Season Ends For 49ers In Five-Game NCAA Battle

Asia Kaczor had a match-high 34 kills as Long Beach State couldn’t quite finish off an upset of No. 5 USC on the road at the Galen Center in a 30-28, 24-30, 25-30, 30-21, 11-15. Senior Alexis Crimes had 24 kills to lead the 49ers, while senior Talaya Whtifield finished with 32 digs for the 49ers.
